This post is way beyond overdue (okay, not sooo...) but it's never too late to grab that mag, especially 'cause we're only halfway through January of 2012! :)

To welcome the New Year, we featured two beautiful and accomplished young ladies of the society who are just about to face a new chapter in their individual newly married lives — Bianca Zobel & Marga Valdes.

In this issue you'll find them in some of the most alluring and enchanting pieces of bridal brand from Spain Rosa Clara, now open at ground floor of The Residences, Makati.

It was also a first for me to shoot at The National Museum which was quite interesting. It was captivating to see and be around the famous piece of Juan Luna — The Spolarium. One could immenseley feel the energy and emotion of the painting just by staring at it.

RELOCATE TO: RELIK TAPAS BAR & LOUNGE

If you're looking for some flavorful comfort food, delectable cocktails and a distinctive vibe to be at on a week night or a weekend, it's the perfect time to relocate your usual hangout to the newest Tapas Bar and Lounge in town — RELIK.

Also try their Quesadilla with barbecue chicken 270 php

or their Risotto with piperade and lardon 250 php for something more filling.

Okay, this is the killer: Here's a new way to look at the usual french fries —

Huevos rotos with chorizo de Gloria 205 php

All mashed up underneath a sunny side-up egg are french fries and chorizo.

No words — guys will love this with their beer.

Topped it off with Mojitos! :)

All in all, RELIK is a place for good food and drinks, great music and atmosphere and one with a special vibe.

Last Thursday, their official launch was held at the Makati Shangri-la with brand endorser Anne Curtis, host Divine Lee and pumped up with a fashionable multitude of bloggers, stylists and the like.

MANOS NAIL LOUNGE

I believe in the power of manicure and pedicure! I get them at least twice a month which is why finding a nail spa that's great in service, cozy, unique and fun is a must for me. My friends just opened a nail spa that's quite distinct. Their theme? Pinoy, organic and charitable.

MANOS NAIL LOUNGE
offers some organic nail polish in a wide spectrum of pretty colors (brand name Zoya) and the usual favourites such as Essie, Chanel and O.P.I. to name a few.

Their interior is made up of wooden chairs, linen covers and some capis detail — now that's unmistakably Filipino.

Their counter reminds me of a sari-sari store. Check out the tiny "parols", hung in different colors, as their Christmas decoration!

Manos has great service — impeccable nail polish application, quality products and a friendly staff. It's a such a homey environment! One wouldn't mind spending a whole afternoon in!

Instead of the usual deep red polish that I get, I picked out a lighter and fresher shade of Seafoam Green.
All of their nail therapists are professionally trained, coming from Gawad Kalinga villages in Taguig — Mano's Nail Lounge's way of providing employment to some of the women who are out-of-work.

You can enjoy some good reads (aside from the usual magazines) while getting your preferred treatment!

CHOCOLATE NIGHT

This is a tad bit late of a post but I've been on some serious, nerve wrecking, crazy busy work schedule lately that I haven't had the time to actually sit down and give my undivided attention to blogging. Here's a teeny-tiny photo log from the night I mused for a clothing brand — Chocolate. I, along with other ladies from the industry were dressed up in the label's holiday collection. It's a pretty causal line made for girls who are care free but stylish. We all gave an easy going walk and pose for the crowd to see. It was a light and wonderful night filled with cocktails and dancing at the newly opened club, Prive. Aside from the fun and merrymaking that night, I also enjoyed getting made up by Jane Iredale's team — a mineral make-up brand that I truly recommend! Why??? More on that in my upcoming post! PAMPER DAY: MURAD

Everyone needs a Pamper Day! Today I'm getting one from Murad — the leading brand in the science of skin care. I'm a fan of facials (although I don't go for extraction 'cause it's just bloody painful and I think it does more damage to the skin). I prefer skipping that part. Getting scrubs, masks, peels and massages are my favourite!

Lastly, a soothing decolletage massage with a calming aroma of citron to wrap it up.

IT'S CALLED TROUSSEAU.

I am a bangle freak. Yes, aside from my accessory staple, like earrings and headbands, you'll always see my wrists with arm candies. I like combining different kinds of bangles — thick or thin, metal or leather, it doesn't matter.

One of my personal favorite bangles is my Hermes Clic-Clac.
It is of great sentimental value to me and it truly embodies my style — BLACK & GOLD.
I like combining it with a gold watch sometimes, or some of my leather cuffs, or a diamond encrusted bangle I've had since I was 18.

I've been searching for colored bangles that could add more fun to my usual combination of black and gold and I've recently just discovered these pretty stingray leather bangles from

SHOWER POWER

This long weekend I've been doing nothing else but pampering myself day and night. Aside from the lazing around, eating all day and massages I've been getting, I've been a total shower freak. I know it's awfully weird but I can stay in the shower for 40 minutes and I would be having the best 40 minutes of my day. Right now, I seriously smell like a mixture of berries, rose petals and a hint of cinnamon thanks to my latest shower set find.
I'm a body wash, body scrub, lotion and hand cream addict. Although I'm very moody, meaning I like hopping from one scent to another, right now, I am loving this set of a body scrub, body butter and hand cream from Watsons — H Bella.

I believe in layering similar scents to prolong your fragrance.

So, as my hair colour is about to fade, I recently paid a visit to Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell at the 4th floor of Greenbelt 5 for a hair colouring session.

Alex decided on using 2 colors on my hair (on top of my existing high-lights) to give a 3-dimensional feel. After deliberating on the perfect colour, I was then introduced to the latest colour care:

SCARF-OLOGY 101 by HERMES

I've always been a fan of using scarves!
Even before my current hair-style, which, if you haven't noticed, has amplified my use of scarves and headbands to the next level (even when I sleep, I kid you not) I've always collected a number that I often use for both summer and "ber" months, and of course trips to places with cold weather.

On a daily basis, I would use a scarf on my hair, around my neck, or just draping down from my nape and shoulders, but can I just share???
I've never learned soo many interesting and cute ways to wear the scarf, until I got schooled!
Yes I got schooled by no less than, well, THEE label that houses the best silk scarves everrr — 
HERMES.

There are a gazillion ways to wear the scarf according to Hermes.
But after learning and trying almost all of them out myself, here's my TOP 8 WAYS
demonstrated and modeled by my friend, model Valerie de los Santos. :)

#1 "THE BEACH GOWN"

2 scarves knotted in the middle, behind your nape, and at your back. This can be worn with a tube dress underneath, for the chic and classy, or just a bikini inside for those thinking: "I wanna look sexy!!!" ;)

#2 "THE TOP KNOT"

This can be worn anywhere, except when you don't have the body for it, hah! Harsh but true!
I haven't actually worn a scarf this way but I will surely try this the next time I hit the beach! I think it looks cool!

#3 "THE HANG LOSE"

I've worn this type of style with a pair of linen pants at the beach before. I like the cowl-neck effect, and let's not joke around here, I love it 'cause it's backless sexy like that. I dubbed it "Hang Lose" 'cause nothing can be more "chill" than this... Seriously.

#4 "THE STRAP WRAP"

Wind your scarf around the strap of a shoulder bag. I think this is a very cool way of accessorizing any bag, instead of the usual, tie-around, which is so predictable.

#5 "BELTIN' IT OUT"

This is by far the coolest way to wear a scarf as a belt!!! Although you'll be needing some belt buckles (who cares this rocks!) this look is too cool for school. Wear this with a white romper and "superstar shades" and you're good to go!

#6 "ALL WRAPPED UP"

Now this is how I usually wear my scarf in cold countries or when on a trip. Looking at this makes me miss traveling!!! :( Okay, FOCUS... So this can be worn with anything, but I usually wear it with a plain short dress and knee-high boots.

#7 "THE STEWARDESS LOOK"

Though I have quite a long neck and this would look flattering on me, I've never worn a scarf this way. I'm just not the type to. However, I like how it's done, very chic! If you're a stewardess, replace that scarf with an Hermes... SHH! ;)

#8 "THE NINA"

Yes, I am calling this style "The Nina" because I always wear my scarves as headbands. I wear them with thinner folds, unlike the one shown above, because I like my hair poofed-up behind, with bangs side swept in front. I usually put the knot on the side too, instead of at the back.

The scarf is a great accessory and a good investment as you can play with it in so many ways. Don't be afraid to experiment and try out new looks, you might just end up starting a trend on your own ;)

The first mousse foundation I've ever tried and i love it! It feels so light on the skin and refreshing. I like the very natural looks it give. (At Rustan's)

MAC Prep + Prime
I put this on before applying foundation. This primer has SPF15, perfect for everyday wear. (At Rustan's)

NARS Concealer
The Nars concealer stick is the easiest to apply. The trick is picking the right shade for your skin. I like it because it hardly cakes and isn't too oily so it sticks well on your skin. (At Rustan's)

Dior Eyeshadow
Shimmers are what I love to put on my eyes. I'm not that good in putting on eye makeup, I'm not kidding. Smokey eyes are a challenge for me, lol. I stick to neutral shades. This palette has neutral tones and shimmers that work best for me. (At Rustan's)

NARS Lipstick
I love the sheer color and shimmering effect of NARS lipstick. Its moisture is perfect too!
This shade is perfect for everyday wear. (At Rustan's)

D&G Sunglasses by Madonna
I love D&G. I love Madonna. Need I say more???

Bobbi Brown presents the new Creamy Concealer!

I've always loved Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer. Aside from its brilliant coverage and creamy texture, which makes it easy to blend, it's very handy and perfect for on-the-go touch up's.

The new kit replaced the loose powder with a pressed powder.

Here are some useful tips I learned from Kai Vinson, Bobbi Brown's Executive Education and Makeup Artist.



Tip #1:
Use a brightener in a peach or pink tone as a base before applying the Creamy Concealer. It helps balance the greenish and purplish tones in the under-eye area. It's also perfect for those days when you've had very little sleep with the need to look fresh and radiant.

Tip #2:
It's better to use a brush when applying concealer. It helps target the area precisely and helps you save your Creamy Concealer so none is put to waste. When blending, use your fingertips. Preferably, the ring finger, which has the slightest pressure, as the under-eye area is very sensitive.

Tip #3:
Always set with loose / pressed powder after applying the Creamy Concealer. This makes it longer wearing and gives you a shine free look.

VOILA!
Dark circles GONE!

DAY SLEEPER

work and play ahead of me. It's nice to relax and live the simple life once in a while,

Dinner at Sofitel's Spiral: 
It's been a loooong time since I last visited Sofitel. I missed the place so I decided to plan a dinner, especially now that the night breeze is stronger, it was perfect! :)
It was also Earth Hour, so torches were lit outside and suddenly it was candle-lit... Earth Hour added to the ambiance, haha!
I ditched the buffet and went Ala Carte. I didn't think I deserved to eat much because I've been pigging out in the past few weeks :( OINK.
But being pretentious as I am, I ended up food coma-ing the worse, which I later realized came from my huge Foie Gras binge... Oops.

PRETTY IN PRINT

I'm feeling just a lil bit plain today,
so on me, I put on a print-on-print display!


TRICK OF THE TRADE
One of the trickiest style to pull-off : PRINT-ON-PRINT.
I opted for a stripe + floral bustier top paired with a 'polka-dot' pleated skirt.
When doing PRINT-ON-PRINT, keep in mind that the colors should always go in harmony. Also try to pick prints that compliment each other, like stripes and dots. Finally,  it's nice to break the prints with a solid colored belt that at the same time balances both contrasting display.

Hey Stalkers :)

Can I just say how I was so excited to share my HK weekend with you but unfortunately I lost my trusty camera... on the 1st night out. LOL. I KNOW RIGHT?

I didn't get to take any photos of my outfit at all. It was a bummer, the weather was perfect for shooting and so were my clothes!!! I braved the cold breeze with thin knee-high stockings, mini leather skirts, and knitted loose tops.

Yes, EFF the weather, but never EFF with my style ;)

I was too attached to my old cam that I wanted to get the same one. My Canon S90  was very handy and the resolution was great! But the Canon S90 has been replaced with its updated version:

Well, okaaay, not exactly, haha!I know this post is 3 days delayed and it's because I've been a bit busy & just got back from a vacay, but hey hey, I was back just in time to spend Valentine's Day in the city :)

I'm not one of those people who dread it or find it too cheesy. I actually enjoy it every year :)

I love its bold orange floral print & its classic cut.
I toned down the skirt's brightness with a champagne gold tube top and cinched it with a skinny belt with an orange clasp — vintage looking clasp, i like. :)

A NEW FAVE : PAUL & JOE

One fine shopping day,
when I told myself to FOCUS on shopping for new corset tops,
I ended up shopping for shoes & makeup instead. How very, very, predictable :p

Meet some of my new favorite things:

DO IT THE MILKY WAY
I've always stuck to my beauty regimen and a set of skin care line but I've heard good things about Paul & Joe's cleansing milk that I just had to try it out!
Before anything else, can I just say how much I love Paul & Joe's cleansing milk's scent!!!

THE PLUS :
It smells like a bouquet on a pretty summer day :) Its silver decorated cap is a plus too ;)

THE VERDICT : 
The cleansing milk removes all traces of makeup, and I mean all! Its milky texture moisturizes your skin leaving it so smooth after washing. Rubbing it gently on your skin gives off a velvety feel and betters blood circulation too. The gentle cleanser is removed with a cotton pad or facial tissue that's wet with warm water. It gently lifts up even the most stubborn makeup traces. I love the refreshing feeling it leaves after washing. And the smell! The smell! :)

It's my first time to try Paul & Joe's lipstick and I must say...

THE VERDICT :
The lipstick's shade is exactly what I am looking for right now — bright red!
I love it because of its moisture rich feel. It never leaves your lips chappy or dry, like some others. It also feels very light on the lips, even when re-touched.
I love the slight gloss finish it has too! I am truly loving it :)

DIY: A is for ACID WASH

ACID AT WORK
I have to say, I totally missed DIY's.
One of the easiest and coolest DIY I love is Acid Wash.


Here's how to Do-It-Yourself ;)

I used an off-shoulder cotton shirt :)


1. Pumice stones will play an important part of the dying process. Beauty stores as well as sites like ebay, carry pumice stones.
2. Soak the pumice stones in chlorine. Ask a professional who handles chemicals to inform you of the proper way and disposing of this potent chemical.
3. Load the jeans and the stones into an industrial washer, making sure it is safe for such an endeavor. You also want to be avoid the fumes, and warn others of the same, when acid washing jeans.
4. Check on the jeans after 15 minutes. The typical time it takes is 25 minutes, but you want to check to make sure. You don't want to go too far in either direction with acid washing. Too little can make a fabric look awful, and over-doing it can destroy a great pair of jeans!
5. Keep checking every ten minutes after that for just the right look!
6. Once the jeans are dyed to perfection, they should be transferred to another machine, and have "antichlor," sodium bisulfite, added to water they are washed with. Leave them washing for five minutes in this process. This will remove any remaining chlorine.
7. Wash jeans in water for five minutes more to remove any grit from the stones and any possible remaining chlorine.
8. Put the jeans in a high-powered drier until all dry!  You now have completed the process of acid washing.

It's been 2 and a half years since I last changed my perfume.
I love perfumes and I'm the type who sticks to one scent for years.
But right now, I am in need of something new!

I'm into printed stockings and this is one of my favorites! It's perfect for the cold to keep your legs warm and I think it's very sexy ;)
THE SCARF : i love scarves. They keep you from the chills, they spice up your outfit, they add texture, and sometimes, if you ever run-out of clothes, i'm telling you, a scarf is all you need chief! LOL.

I love the 80's. I love the bright colors and the exaggeration of it all!!!
I'm wearing a neon green skirt which is a sure eye-catcher paired with no matter what, that I assure you! I love skirts that fit tightly on my butt :) And this one fits perfectly on me. I paired it with a glittered mesh tank top to keep up the 80's vibe, worn with a black bandeau inside.
To top it off, go all studded, why not??? ;)

My day started early with 2 shoots.
At work, I try to keep it simple yet playful at the same time.

As soon as my shoots for the day wrapped up, I tried to beat the heavy traffic and headed to SMX for PFW's SM show with only 20 minutes left.
Thank goodness I made it just in time for a cocktail or two just before it all began.

IN THE BEGINNING... THERE WAS LIGHT.

I loved the whole show!!! It was filled with a melange of interesting details – I'm talking about cutouts, lace, ruffles, exquisite embellishments, one-shoulder styles, and lots of draping.
It was all about classic looks and countless new ones created by wearing unconventional pieces which were all very feminine and fun.

I'd wear this one on a girl's night out in the city.

My latest obsession: CUTE SWEATERS & CARDIGANS.

I went crazy over some really cute little sweaters and cardigans just the other day. There’s something soo cozy and chic about them. The comfort is there too! I love the bow print on this lil sweater i got from Promod. It makes me feel like daddy’s little girl :)

 I paired it with a polka-dot mini skirt to balance off the cute bow print. And once you go dotted, you go all the way! My polka-dot scarf did the trick! I’m also wearing a cute lil bow plastic ring in red :)

Sweaters are all about the cold weather, the “ber” months, coffee, the cozy feeling, the wholesome vibe… 

Sweaters make me feel like Christmas is just around the corner :)

 Mr. Weather man better cooperate ;)

It's been a while since i last wore a tent dress! I usually opt for it during summer time, and clearly, we're soo over that season. But this one is just too comfortable!!! Perfect for a lazy sunday like mine. After the heaps of fun, fun, fun, during the long weekend, there was a much needed bumming on a Sunday.

I'm not so much into the bohemian look but I couldn't resist the ease and relaxation this dress offers once you slip into it. It makes you feel careless, free, and light! I cinched it with a hardware copper belt to toughen the look and wore it with my black leather Dior inspired high-heels to sexify!

I wanted to add a pop of color so I opted for a bright pink patent shoulder bag. This bag is designed by my friend Audrey (co-owner of Moonshine). She has lots of interesting "everyday bags" that are wearable from day to night, from clutches to hand bags, to shoulder bags. I specifically like this one for its color. So bright! A perfect twist to this big, black, boho ;)

Soo, i haven't worn silver in a looong time! I'm more of a gold and black kind of girl really, but how can one resist a shining, silver dress like this???
IT. JUST. SCREAMS!!!

I love metallics! It's a risky trend when worn at the wrong place and at the wrong time but there's just this sort of magic once you slip in it — suddenly flashlights & explosions! ;)

BORN METALLIC

I belted the shift dress to give it a little drama and paired it with my silver grommetted heels by Michael Antonio. Yes, I'm into the socks + heels trend too! It makes this dress a little bit more laid back for a chill night out. After exactly 1 week only of massive shoots, production, and major planning for our Prive fashion show held last September 1. Oh and my furry, furry bag added texture to the outfit as always. Also wearing my silver Ray-Ban aviators to top off the whole look.
